Will Satch of Henley retains his place in the GB men’s eight which sees several changes from the crew that won an exciting silver medal at the recent World Cup in Aiguebelette, France.

Tom Ransley, Matt Gotrel, Paul Bennett and Constantine Louloudis have all been included, and the crew will be coxed by Phelan Hill after Henry Fieldman took over in Aiguebelette. This crew will race at Henley and Lucerne.

“It is a gradual process of selection during the season as we move towards the World Championships in Amsterdam in August,” said Chief Coach for Men, Jurgen Grobler.

Sam Townsend of Reading and Henley’s Pete Lambert remain in an unchanged men’s quadruple scull after their gold medal win at the World Cup.

They will race alongside Charles Cousin and Graeme Thomas at Henley and the final stage of the World Cup.

Maidenhead’s Jono Clegg will continue his partnership with Sam Scrimgeour of Imperial College Boat Club in the lightweight men’s pair at Lucerne, but they will not race at Henley this week.

Adam Freeman-Pask of Windsor is another who has been included in the squad for the World Cup, and will race in the lightweight men’s single scull.

Eleanor Piggott of Wallingford Rowing Club will race in a new lightweight women’s quad combination, alongside Brianna Stubbs, Ruth Walczak and Charlotte Taylor.

Piggott partnered Taylor in Aiguebelette where they won a silver medal behind fellow Great Britain double of Imogen Walsh and Kat Copeland. This crew will race in the open weight event at Henley.

GB Rowing Team Performance Director, Sir David Tanner, said: “We are pleased to race our top boats at Henley Royal Regatta in its 175th anniversary year, with some of our top-line crews.

“We look forward to seeing how they race there before we take on what looks set to be another strong field at the World Cup next week,”

BBC television will cover the World Rowing Cup III with a highlights programme on Monday July, from 4pm.
