Nigel Adkins men will travel to the iPro Stadium in the week commencing September 22.

Royals booked their place in the third round with a 1-0 victory at Scunthorpe United on Tuesday thanks to an 85th minute winner from Jake Taylor.

They are likely to face another difficult night against Steve McClaren’s Rams who reached the Championship play-off final last season where they lost to QPR.

Reading have won on their last three visits to Derby County, with Adkins’ men triumphing 3-1 last season.

However, the Rams have won both their league games at the iPro Stadium so far this term, and beat Charlton Athletic at home in the Capital One Cup second round.
