WOODLEY United progressed to the second round of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Cup with a 3-1 victory at Athletico Forest, writes Richard Ashton.

First-half goals from Tom Shone, Harvey Detenon and Brodie Davies did the damage for United, and despite Forest pulling one back, Woodley advanced with ease.

Depleted Loxwood lost 5-3 on penalties at Pangbourne & Basildon Barbarians.

Despite having 10 men after skipper Jonny Austin pulled up lame in the warm up, Loxwood stormed into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Jamie Turner (2) and Steve Barter.

Pangbourne hit back just before the break and when Loxwood defender Andy Marshall saw red early in the second half, the home side seized their chance to draw level at 3-3.

Jason Harris, Steve Roberts and new signing Callum Finlay all netted for Loxwood in the shoot-out, but defender Duncan Greenwood missed and the home side were lethal from the spot to score all of their kicks.

Le Galaxy beat Reading FC Deaf 4-2, Intercity downed FC Woodley 2-1, Eldon Celtic overcame Wokingham & Emmbrook TMW 2-0 and AFC Burghfield Reserves lost 5-3 on penalties to AFC Crowthorne Crows following a 0-0 draw.

Whitegrove knocked out Arborfield 1-0, Richfield Rovers Reserves battled past Sandhurst Sports Club 4-3 and Charvil Rangers beat Shepherd Hut 3-1.

In the Senior Division, Dee Road Rangers won a nine-goal thriller 6-3 at home to Reading YMCA, Reading Irish smashed Burghfield FC 5-0, Southcote obliterated Whitley Tavern 9-1, The Tilehurst Club drilled Kidmore End/The Mod 6-1 and Richfield Rovers edged past Emmer Green 3-2.

AFC Pangbourne made it three Division One wins from three with a 5-1 demolition of The County, Barton Rovers narrowly defeated Purley 4-3 and Woodley Wanderers shared the spoils 1-1 with Kidmore End/The Mod Reserves.

Danny Nicholson scored twice but missed a penalty for Tilehurst YM as they drew 2-2 at Mortimer.

Caversham AFC drew 2-2 with WS Hobnob in Division Two, while Division Three East leaders Reading United crushed Park Villa 9-1.

Woolhampton CFC downed Mortimer Reserves 5-2 in Division Three West, while Whitley Athletic won 1-0 at Southbank, YPFC eased past Theale 4-1 and Tilehurst Club A overcame Tilehurst Titans 3-2.

Fox & Hounds smashed Caversham United 6-1 in Division Four East, while Six Bells sneaked past South Reading 4-3.
