LOXWOOD secured two Division Two victories in three days after easing past AFC Burghfield Reserves 3-1 on Tuesday night, writes Richard Ashton.
That success followed a 5-3 victory at Pangbourne & Basildon Barbarians on Sunday, with man-of-the-match Jamie Turner striking twice in the first half to give his team a 2-1 interval lead.
However, his side then pressed the self-destruct button at the back to gift the home side two early goals to trail 3-2.
But once Michael Flatman had headed home from a corner, Loxwood were back on track with Jason Ivil scoring from a set-piece and Turner completing his treble.
Last Thursday, Loxwood suffered a 4-1 home defeat against AFC Pangbourne. Flatman scored Loxwood’s consolation.
Second-placed Pangbourne look set to snatch the title after following that victory up with 4-2 and 9-1 wins against AFC Burghfield Reserves and WS Hobnob.
Emmbrook Inn have enjoyed a tremendous week, with 7-1, 5-1 and 4-1 wins against Warwick Arms, Athletico Forest and table-toppers Le Galaxy.
The leaders were also held to a 4-4 draw at Imaan on Sunday, when WS Hobnob won an astonishing game 8-5 at Warwick Arms and Arborfield beat Wokingham & Emmbrook 2-1.
Dee Road Rangers are seven points clear at the top of the Senior Division table following a 2-0 win at Richfield Rovers on Tuesday, while Barton Rovers beat Eastern Rangers 4-2. Second-placed Reading Irish have four games in hand on the leaders and were gifted three points when rock bottom Ghana Stars forfeited on Sunday.
Kidmore End overcame Whitley Tavern 5-3 and Richfield Rovers beat Reading YMCA 2-1.
The Tilehurst Club kept their Premier Division title hopes alive with a 6-0 drubbing of second-placed Burghfield on Tuesday, following on from a 5-1 destruction of The Mod.
The County ended Tilehurst YM’s five-match winning streak with a 4-2 victory, and The Mod beat Woodley United 2-1.
Burghfield are level on points at the top with a game in hand having edged past Richfield Rovers Reserves 1-0 prior to their defeat, while Roebuck thrashed Purley 4-1 and DC Steamers and The County drew 1-1 on Sunday.
Woodley Wanderers are five points clear at the top of Division One following emphatic 6-1 wins against 116 Exiles and SC United.
