ONCE again the weather decimated the league programme on Sunday with only five games were played.

In Division One, Braybrooke Athletic are back on top following their 3-1 win at Newbold, Mitch Quelch, Dave Ollie and Ryan McManus scoring for Braybrooke with Christian Jones replying for the basement boys.

Ashridge Park had a brace each from Daniel Merritt and Alan Small plus a Jack Steadman strike to thank for their 5-2 win at home against Hurricanes, Liam Forde and Ash Carter replying for the beaten side. The win lifted Ashridge out of the bottom two and up to 10th spot.

In the Premier Division, Bracknell Manics stunned high-flying Binfield Club Athletic with a 1-0 home win, while Morale Madrid and Raglan played out a 1-1 draw.

FC Fernhill went top for the first time this season following a less than convincing 2-1 win over bottom side Winkfield FC.

Fernhill had taken an early lead but Bernie McDonagh – back from injury and making his first appearance for more than three months – soon headed home an equaliser with a brave diving header from a Winks corner.

However, the table-toppers restored their lead just before the break when hapless Winks defender Martin Pring managed to head past his own keeper for an own goal.

The second period continued to be a tight affair but Fernhill had the better chances, missing opportunities on the break to put the game to bed.

Winks rallied but could not find a second equaliser.

In the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup semi-finals, Finchampstead Sunday were thrashed 5-1 by Kings Head Thatcham.
