A HOSPICE is holding an ‘open garden’ event to help support their operations.

Thames Hospice is inviting residents and supporters to come and tour the grounds of historic Micklems Farmhouse, Knowl Hill Common.

It is a Grade II listed property with 16th century origins.

The garden had been developed over the last 20 years by Chris and Rosemary Harper.

They include vegetable and herb gardens, rose beds, and a large flower cutting garden with a sweet pea collection.

On the sunny side of the property there is a wide lawn with views over the Castle Royle golf course.

Micklems Farmhouse has just held a successful Open Day for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, which was well received by visitors.

The magnificent garden is said to be in prime viewing condition at the moment, as the roses are in full bloom.

The event is being held on Sunday, June 24, from 10am to 5pm. Entrance fee is £5 per person.
