Art enthusiasts, collectors, and the curious are invited to embark on a sensory journey through the vibrant landscapes and depictions of the natural world crafted by two Reading artists.

Simon Pink and Kerry Webb are set to captivate art enthusiasts with their collaboration for this year’s Open Studios event, a vivid exploration of landscape art infused with the untamed beauty of the natural world.

The duo’s creative approach promises to showcase the boundaries of artistic expression, offering a kaleidoscopic journey unveiling nature’s palette.

Simon Pink, recognized for his daring use of colour and dynamic compositions, has long been a trailblazer in the art world. His works, characterized by bold strokes and vibrant hues, evoke a sense of energy and emotion.

This year Simon is opening up his studio in collaboration with Kerry Webb, a talented landscape artist, recognised for her depictions of local landmarks, rural landscapes and vivid seascapes in oil and acrylics.

Simon Pink’s contribution to the collaboration is a celebration of the emotional resonance found in landscapes. His bold brushstrokes and vibrant palette bring a sense of vitality to each piece, inviting viewers to connect with the essence of nature on a profound level. Simon’s works often serve as a bridge between the tangible and the emotional, creating a dialogue between the canvas and the observer.

Kerry Webb brings a unique dimension to this collaboration. Taking her inspiration mainly from rural and coastal environments, she has a particular fascination with human intervention on the landscape and the resulting tension between permanence and impermanence; ancient monuments and architectural ruins being a favourite theme.

Kerry said: “I’m really excited to be participating in Open Studios for the first time, it’s such a great initiative.

“Simon has generously invited me to share his studio for the duration of the event, which offers a unique opportunity to showcase my work to a much wider audience. I’m really looking forward to meeting our visitors and talking to them about my art.”

For the duration of the Open Studios event, Simon and Kerry offer a warm welcome to anyone who would like to visit them at Hilltop Studio in Tilehurst.

Being part of the Open Studios West Berkshire and North Hampshire initiative allows the public to access artists’ studios that are normally the artist’s own private workspace. The Open Studios event can offer an unusual insight into the places and ways in which artists work.

Open Studios West Berkshire and North Hampshire is at Venue 37: Hilltop Studio, 15B Berkshire Drive, Reading RG31 5JJ.

The studio is open on Saturdays and Sundays in May between 11am and 5pm.
