YANN Kermorgant's biggest fan was treated to the day of his dreams this weekend - which went from being chaperoned in a sports car to meeting his footballing idol.

Ten-year-old Felix Brown was picked up from his home in a shiny Aston Martin and whisked off to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday to watch Reading FC vs Cardiff City FC.

Felix was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia seven weeks ago, but has remained extremely positive, writing a Facebook blog on how he is coping with the cancer and giving an insight into his day to day life.

Royals' forward Kermorgant has been in contact with the family, and has been sending text messages to Felix to show his support, after he suffered with the same condition when he was a teenager.

The striker recorded a personal video message to Felix and sent a signed shirt to the youngster's home in Bournemouth.

In the message, Yann said, “It was great speaking to you Felix, stay strong and all the best my friend.”

When he arrived at the ground on Saturday March 19, the 10-year-old was introduced to a number of Royals' players including the likes of Kermorgant and Garath McCleary.

His parents Kerry and Dylan, sister Talia and brother Rufus, were shown to the hospitality suites where they enjoyed lunch and watched the game in style, while Yann presented them more gifts, including a shirt signed by the entire squad with FELIX on the back.

They were also taken to and from the game in a brand new Bentley car.

But the icing on the cake came when Felix took the hand of his hero and walked side by side along the tunnel and out onto the pitch in front of thousands of cheering fans.

Paul Carvell, brand ambassador for Aston Martin Reading and Bentley Berkshire, which supplied the cars for Felix and his family, said: “We often work with people who might be considered privileged and extremely fortunate as we operate at the dream end of the market and so we are very happy to have the opportunity to give something back, particularly to a family who are having such a challenging time.

“You can only imagine what it must be like for Felix and his family at the moment and so to be able to help make their day extra special and put a smile on their faces is an absolute pleasure.

"Even if it is just for a few moments we are delighted to help and show people really do care.”
