THERE is still time to sponsor a light ahead of this weekend's town-centre sparkle in Woodley.
The Woodley and Earley Lions will be ligjting up the Christmas tree in the precinct tomorrow.
The group are urging residents to come forward with donations to the Lions' Tree of Light appeal, which asks people to remember lost friends and family by sponsoring a light on the tree.
For a minimum donation of £5, the names of those to be remembered will be displayed with their sponsors alongside the tree, which was donated by Woodley's Town Centre Management Initiative.
Lion Colin Gibson said: "This is a very good cause and forms part of a big drive across the county.
"We want to show the community that we are here to help."
The event kicks off at 4.30pm tomorrow (Saturday Nov 28) and the town will be in full festive swing, with the Woodley Concert Band and Reading Operatic Society coming together to belt out classic Chrismas carols, while mulled wine and mince pies are on offer.
Lights can be sponsored up until December 17, and sponsor forms will be life in newsagents, the Oakwood Centre, Woodley Library and various shops around the town.
