AN EXTRAORDINARY parish council meeting is set to be held over an audit investigation into its finances.
The meeting was announced at a Burnham Parish Council meeting on Monday night (27/7).
During the meeting it was confirmed part of the financial review is to find out where a BACS payment (money paid from one bank account to another), which was made in April, has been sent. The amount was not disclosed.
Cllr Edwina Glover told the Observer that an investigation is taking place, but she nor any other councillor are willing to comment on the matter at this time.
At the meeting it was also reported that a seperate sum of £226,000 had been made to an incorrect account and should have been available as part of the general reserves.
The extraordinary council meeting will take place on Monday, August 10.
