An update is expected to be released soon about the remainder of the 2019-20 season after the EFL met to discuss the upcoming months earlier today.

As it stands at the moment, the league is set to resume on April 4 - but with the Coronavirus pandemic tightening it's grip and more measures being introduced to limit social gatherings, it's likely to be pushed back further.

All 24 clubs discussed and agreed that the season needs to be completed and not voided - even if it means playing the remainder of the season in the Summer months.

With Euro 2020 being postponed until next year, it may well end up being the case that the domestic football season will be completed in the gap left by the postponement.

UEFA have set a deadline to complete this season by June 30.
