SINGH Sabha pulled off a remarkable comeback to recover from falling four goals behind and draw 4-4 with FC Beaconsfield in Division One of the Thames Valley Sunday League.

Sabha have ended a run of four consecutive defeats in the league and it is an important point in their efforts to climb the table – currently second bottom.

The hosts made a slow start to the game and fell behind as their defence switched off and Beaconsfield were able to head home from a free kick.

Beaconsfield cut through the Singh Sabha defence to double the advantage and scored two more goals before half-time with the Sabha side all over the place.

The home team changed to a more conventional 3-5-2 formation during the break and introduced both Jovan Bains and Conrad Joseph for the start to the second half.

The two substitutes linked up to pull a goal back when Bains found Joseph to fire home past the Beaconsfield keeper from the edge of the box.

Singh Sabha further reduced the arrears as centre back Harmeet Dhaliwal headed home from a Mark Peters free kick.

Sabha bagged a third goal when Pritpal Raju set up man-of-the-match Karim Chaibi who controlled the pass before firing into the top corner with 25 minutes still to play.

The hosts then had keeper Hassan Hussain to thank as he made two great saves to keep them in the game – one from the penalty spot.

Singh Sabha introduced Andrei Tonca as a substitute inside the final 10 minutes and he complete the remarkable turnaround with a header after Chan Sidhu saw his effort saved by the Beaconsfield keeper.

Tonca thought he had won the game moments later when heading in a cross from Joseph, but the assistant referee had the flag raised for offside.

Sabha captain Mampreet Randhawa could have won the match with the final touch but he headed a cross from Mark Peters just wide of the post.

Singh Sabha could climb as high as eighth position in the table with a win at home against Pobbers this Sunday (10.30am).
