IT FINISHED with honours even as promotion rivals Slough Town and Havant & Waterlooville met in a 1-1 draw at Arbour Park on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.
The two sides are second and third in the National League South, but leaders Wealdstone will be most pleased with the draw. The table toppers have a six-point lead with at least one game in hand on the chasing pack.
Slough were unfortunate not to take the lead inside seven minutes when Sam Togwell had the ball in the back of the net, but the flag was up for offside.
The Rebels came close again as Max Worsfold made a superb run and crossed into the box but the shot from Daniel Roberts at the near post was just wide.
The hosts continued to have the better of the chances as Havant keeper Ross Worner had to save from one of his own defenders before Lee Togwell missed the target following a succession of corners into the box.

Havant were out of luck when a shot hit the post and that missed went punished as Slough broke the deadlock in time added on at the end of the first half.
A poor clearance from Worner went straight to Worsfold and he headed down the ball for Matthew Lench to run in and find the bottom former. It is his 10th goal of the season and first in six games.

The Rebels had the opportunity to double the advantage just minutes into the second half as Roberts was put through by Worsfold. The striker tried to find the far corner but Worner was able to save.
Havant & Waterlooville equalised when Slough failed to deal with a throw-in into the box and substitute Alfie Rutherford hit home in the 64th minute.
Both sides had chances to get their noses in front inside the final 20 minutes as Slough substitute Ben Harris saw his curling shot collected by Worner before Lench had an effort blocked and Sam Togwell headed over in time added on.
The best chance Havant created to take all three points saw captain Danny Kedwell go close with a header, but Turner was able to make the save before Jonah Ayunga went just inches wide with a shot.
Slough make the trip to mid-table Chelmsford City on Saturday (3pm) looking to complete a league double after a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture at Arbour Park back in November.
