Reading’s Andy Yiadom returned to action after a spell on the sidelines, playing more than an hour for the U23’s as the young Royals drew 1-1 with Swansea City on Saturday.
Yiadom has not featured for Reading since picking up an injury in the defeat to Birmingham City at the Madejski Stadium on December 7 but featured alongside other players with recent first team appearances including Danny Loader and Jeriel Dorsett.
Despite the relative strength in the line-up, Scott Marshall’s side fell behind in the first half, with Cameron Evans heading in from a set piece to give the hosts the lead.
After battling through tough conditions for the majority of the game, Oli Pendlebury levelled for the young Royals side.
The young midfielder latched onto a loose ball after a cross was only half cleared, before finishing confidently beyond Webb in the Swansea net to level the scores.
That was how it finished and following Charlton U23’s victory over Colchester on Monday night, Reading’s passage through to the last 16 of the Premier League Cup has been confirmed.
