NEWBURY show jumping ace Tatiane Mauree put in a stunning performance to secure top spot in the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers at the 148cm Pony Premier Show in Liverpool.
From a field of 23 combinations, 15-year-old Mauree clinched the top spot in the first of the qualifiers with Arlina Mauree’s 10 year-old mare Horseabout Zibu.
The pair produced three foot-perfect clears and took the win in the final jump-off with a time of 32.19 seconds, beating their closest rivals by 0.65 seconds.
Runners-up were Thomas Francis-Jones & Kiltormer Hero in 32.84 seconds, while Rachel Proudley and Beech Comber were the final pair to qualify in 35.44 seconds.
Mauree – who ended last year with a stunning victory in Pony of the Year Show 148cm Championship at the TheraPlate UK Liverpool International Horse Show – and Horseabout Zibu will now have the chance to compete in the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Championship.
The competition will take place at SouthView Competition & Training Centre in Cheshire in April.
