IN-FORM Wokingham & Emmbrook climbed into third place in Division One East of the Hellenic League following their 2-0 win over Langley on Saturday.

The confident-looking Sumas produced a dominant display in blustery conditions at Lowther Road as they extended their unbeaten league run to six games.

Bracknell News:

Dan Carter was a particular threat to the Langley goal, producing a number of excellent crosses, one of which led to Mark O'Connell heading against the post.

He and Luke Scope were both involved in the opening goal scored by Josh Harris, which gave Sumas a deserved first-half lead.

O'Connell, playing a neat one-two with Scope, saw another effort come back off the post, but Wokingham's pressure paid off when Liam Eagle headed in a Harris corner to double their lead.

Bracknell News:

Struggling Langley had their moments, but could make little headway against a strong home defence, although it did take an excellent save from keeper Sean Woodward to deny the visitors a goal.

Bracknell News:

The win completed a good week for the Sumas as on Tuesday last week they won 1-0 at Hellenic Premier side Ardley United in the Reading Senior Cup, with Harris getting a late winner from the penalty spot.

They will also be hoping to reach the semi-finals of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy this coming Saturday when they face Sandhurst at Lowther Road (3pm). The winners will meet Wantage Town Reserves or Penn & Tylers Green in the final.

Bracknell News:

Then next Tuesday (7.45pm) Wokingham are away to Wallingford Town in a league fixture.
