Taylor Hornbrook celebrated his birthday by getting the goal which earned FC Bracknell Under 15s a place in the semi-finals of the East Berks Football Alliance Cup.

Playing away to Hampton & Richmond, they started slowly, but grew into the game and scored an outstanding goal.

The ball was played up to striker Olly Clarke, who held a defender off, turned and threaded a pass out to Hornbrook on the right wing.

He made ground and, spotting the keeper coming out, lobbed the ball over him into the top left-hand corner.

The goal raised the team's confidence and they finished the half strongly.

In an entertaining second half, there were chances at both ends and it required a smart save from Sam Godsell to prevent the hosts from getting a late equaliser.

Bojan Kostadinovski was named FCB's man-of-the-match for a solid performance in defence.

FCB U12 Youth are through to the quarter-finals of their plate competition following an emphatic 12-5 victory over Windlesham.

They played with confidence and flair to outshine a side which plays two leagues higher.

There were hat-tricks for Charlee Martin and Joseph Walker, while Jack Johnstone bagged a brace with Alex Di Cosola, Archie Shadbolt, Daniel Pring and an own goal completing the scoring.

FCB U13 Colts have also made progress in their competition, reaching the last 16 after brushing aside Berks County 6-3.

Taylor Head, with two, Sammy Lynch, Tommy Fraser, Amine Chihaoua and Ramesh Yaqubzada all found the net, while Kaydan was their man of the match.

A number of other FCB fixtures planned for last weekend were called off due to waterlogged pitches.

BRACKNELL Athletic Hawks reached the last eight of the League Trophy with a 2-0 success at Spencers Wood Scorpions.

The hosts started much the brighter and constantly won both the first and second balls, meaning Hawks struggled to get any kind of foothold in the contest.

However, Athletic grew into the contest and had a couple of chances to go in front, only for the two sides to go into the interval level at 0-0.

The visitors proved the better side in the second half, and with man-of-the-match Josh Buchanan leading the way, they scored twice to record a deserved victory.

ASCOT United Under 15 Youth advanced in the County Cup with a dramatic 5-4 victory against Bracknell Town in a nine-goal thriller.

The U14 Raiders cruised past Reading Rangers JMC 3-0, but the U14 Youth were beaten by the same margin at Finchampstead Royals.
