ASCOT United have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier Division following their 3-0 win over Colliers Wood 3-0 on Saturday.

With a strong wind at their backs, they created a host of decent chances in the first half and it came as no real surprise when they took the lead in the 17th minute through Mitch Gutteridge after the visitors had failed to deal with Jonny Denton's free-kick.

The hosts doubled their advantage two minutes into the second half with Ian Davies netting his 20th goal of the season, the joint highest in the league.

They went on to dominate the half and Luqman Kassim went close with a header before he was involved in the moved which led to substitute Elliott Carey scoring Ascot's third goal in the 75th minute.

Kassim and Aiden Higgs both went close to netting before Harry Laflin, another replacement, and Collier Wood's Jack Buckle were both dismissed in stoppage time following an altercation.

Kai Walters was Ascot's most impressive player in the win which takes them on to 44 points, five ahead of Knaphill and Spelthorne Sports, all having played 21 games.

Jamie Tompkins' men are away to 14th-placed Guildford City this coming Saturday (3pm).

In Division One, tailenders Eversley & California drew 1-1 at home to AFC Hayes.

After a goalless half-time, they took the lead in the 53rd minute when good work by Jamie Griggs and Chris Robson created an opportunity for Cameron Edwin, who fired into the top corner.

But they were not able to stay ahead for long, the defence switching off and allowing Hayes to equalise.

The Boars are back at Fox Lane this weekend when Walton & Hersham will occupy the visitors' dressing room, and then next Tuesday (7.45pm) they are away to Fleet Spurs.
