HOLYPORT failed in their attempts to inflict a first league defeat on Risborough Rangers after a 4-2 loss in the Hellenic League Division One East on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.
A Sam Pekun brace gave Risborough a clear lead inside the first 15 minutes at Summerleaze Village, but Fabian Driffill halved the arrears for Port before the half-time whistle.
The home team levelled the scores when Danial Rapley struck early on in the second half, but Rangers got their noses back in front with a goal from Davis Haule with 15 minutes still to play and secured the points as Brian Haule found the back of the net in the dying seconds.
Holyport are now three matches without a win in the league and stand in fifth position in the table ahead of a visit to Summerleaze from third-paced Milton United this Saturday (3pm).
Chalvey Sports extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to five matches following a 9-1 thumping of Abingdon Town in the league at Arbour Park.
A Jason Marney brace plus goals from Reece Brophy and Amin Khomsi gave the Stabmonks a clear advantage heading into the break.
The home team further extended the lead in the second half with a goal from Tom Jansons before Abingdon pulled one back through Tyler Peck.
Chalvey were not finished however and completed the rout with a late Aydn Coomber brace plus goals from Sean Robinson and Jansons.
The win means the Stabmonks move up to fourth position in the table ahead of a trip to second-placed Abingdon United this Saturday (3pm).
Langley did not have a fixture to fulfil last weekend but return to action when Risborough Rangers make their second trip in four days to Summerleaze Village on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Windsor are also now five matches unbeaten in all competitions after a 1-1 draw with Premier Division leaders Westfields at Stag Meadow.
A goal from William Montague gave the home side the lead but the unbeaten table-toppers levelled through Ben Hayes before the break.
Windsor are now in 14th position in the league table and two points behind the top-10 ahead of a visit to Stag Meadow from Flackwell Heath on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Burnham saw their match at Brimscombe & Thrupp postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at The Meadow and return to The Gore for the visit of Shrivenham this Saturday (3pm).
