Here are the player ratings from Reading’s goalless draw with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.

Rafael – 5

An average rating for Rafael given the fact that he had very little to do in the game.

Chris Gunter – 6

Another positive performance from Gunter since his return to first team action. Failed to provide much of an offensive threat today on the overlap but was solid defensively, positioning himself well to cut out threatening forward balls.

Michael Morrison – 7

After a couple of poor performances, it was a welcome return to form for Morrison today.

He was a colossus in the air and handled the physical threat Stoke posed going forward excellently. A much-needed confidence boost for Morrison ahead of a busy period.

Liam Moore – 7

Much like his centre back partner, Reading’s captain looked assured and confident on the ball. Also made a goal saving block from a Sam Vokes volley which could have been the difference in a game of few chances.

Tyler Blackett - 5

A lot of the hosts offensive pressure came as a result of crosses into the box from the right wing. On another day, Reading would’ve been made to pay.

Blackett saw a lot of the ball when Reading were building patiently and looked composed on the ball.

Ovie Ejaria – 4

An uncharacteristic performance from Ejaria. As always, he saw a lot of the ball but struggled to cut through the Stoke defence and went missing for long periods of the game.

Pele – 4

Even though Stoke weren’t pressing particularly high up the pitch, Pele was caught out a few times – with Stoke’s midfielders capitalizing on his lack of urgency on the ball.

Andy Rinomhota – 7

The pick of the midfield four today. Rinomhota was very good defensively, breaking up the play on a number of occasions.

I would still like to see a bit more going forward from Rinomhota but he was a big reason for Reading securing a clean sheet.

Charlie Adam – 5

A rather average performance from Adam on his return to the bet365 Stadium. Tried to seize the initiative and find teammates with forward balls but too many passes went astray.

Sam Baldock – 4

His work rate cannot be questioned, but Baldock failed to create anything of note. Had a chance in the box in the first half to take a shot first time but was crowded off the ball after taking a touch.

Lucas Joao – 4

Much like Sam Baldock, Joao put in a lot of effort but ended up with very little to show for it.

SUBS

Garath McCleary – 5

Gave Reading a bit of a boost after coming on, looking to get on the ball and run at the defence – but to no avail.

Should’ve at least got a shot away after finding himself in behind from a quick Sam Baldock throw.

Lucas Boye – 5

Made a few good runs after coming off the bench but didn’t create any clear chances of note.

Danny Loader – N/A

Didn’t have enough time on the pitch for a fair rating.
