Sky Sports pundit Keith Andrews told Sky Sports’ EFL Podcast that he believes George Puscas has the potential to ‘really shine at this level’.

Speaking after Puscas’ five minute hat trick against Wigan Athletic last weekend, Andrews said that he ‘sincerely hopes’ that the 23-year-old forward was now up and running for Reading.

The former Wolves midfielder said: “He's a young player, we mustn't forget that.

"I watched him quite closely with Romania U21s at the European Championships over the summer and when Reading got him quite late in the window, I was thinking it was a very good signing.

"It was a shrewd move and obviously they had to pay a fair bit to get him through the door.

"I was at the Cardiff game earlier in the season and he was outstanding.

"He took the bull by the horns and ran Cardiff ragged and I thought he could be something very special.

"He has struggled in recent weeks, there is no getting away from that and I'm sure it was tempting for Mark Bowen to leave him out.

"For that decision to get vindicated, and the confidence he must be feeling now going into training, [that will mean he] cannot wait for the next game.

"Hopefully that can be the catalyst where he kicks on now because I do think he has the attributes to really shine at this level."
