AT the top of Division One of the Reading & District League, Sonning Common & Peppard B drew 5-5 with Our Lady of Peace Premier, Andy Wang again earning a maximum for Sonning Common.

Kennet Valley Free Church A held Kingfisher C to a 5-5 draw thanks mainly to a treble from Graham Mendick, while Jason Roberts and Neil Hurford won twice as Sonning Common & Peppard A won 6-4 at Tidmarsh A.

At the bottom, Curzon Club A managed their first win as they beat Tidmarsh B 6-4, Pete Bradley and Jon Willis both winning twice.

In Division Two, a maximum from Luca Bianchi helped Kingfisher D consolidate there good start to the season with a 7-3 win over Kingfisher E. OLOP A surged to the top of the table with a 10-0 victory over OLOP D.

Tilehurst Methodists A had their big guns playing against Springfield B and predictable maximums from Eric Van Looy and Keith Winter helped them to a 9-1 win, while an excellent maximum from John Simmonds helped Pangbourne WMC to an unexpected 6-4 victory over Milestone A.

Mike Williams was in top form for Tilehurst Methodists B in Division Three by gaining a hat-trick which helped them beat Springfield C 7–3. Curzon Club B shared the spoils with Kingfisher F as the two sides battled out a 5-5 draw, Nick Lean obtaining a fine treble for Curzon, while Tidmarsh C had enjoyed an 8-2 derby success against Tidmarsh D with Spencer Harvey winning two and David Sheppard and Richard Hudson both gaining doubles.

Reading FC A continue to impress as their very strong side beat Sonning Sports B 10–0, Mike Childs, Wayne Alleyne and Anthony Alleyne the hat-trick men, while Curzon Club C paraded two new signings at OLOP E, namely Paul Treadgold and Peter Hillier, but went down 6–4, Mo Cook hitting a three-straight maximum for OLOP.

In Division Four, Sonning Common & Peppard E beat Tidmarsh E 8-2 to retain top spot, Anthony Reeve and Jim Warren both recording maximums.

Sonning Common & Peppard G beat Sonning Sports C by the same 8-2 score line, Simon Berry and Melvyn Lovegrove both winning all three.

For Reading FC B, new signing Freedom Agindotan impressed with a hat-trick as they secured a 7-3 win over a battling Kennet Valley Free Church B side, Derek Anderson requiring all his guile to earn his treble.

Kingfisher H won 6-4 against Milestone C, Azaan Ali with a maximum ably supported by a double from Ania Pytka.

Sonning Common & Peppard F team won 7-3 at Springfield D, Derek Wavell recording his first maximum of the season and Julian James contributing a further two wins.

In a showdown between the two newcomers, the Commoners’ Alistair Scott - who has returned to action following a 42-year absence - overcame Emily Goodall to record his first win of the season.
