WARFIELD Under 12 girls enjoyed a double success as both were crowned Berkshire champions following a thrilling finals day at Reading CC.
The Wrens, who had already wrapped up the Division One East title, opened their assault on silverware with a clash against Henley.
Elizabeth Lee hit the first ball of the match, and with Chloe Walsh also batting well, Warfield posted 266-2 (teams start on 200).
In reply, Henley never got going after losing five wickets in the first five overs and the Wrens claimed a 43-run victory.
Walsh showed her skills with the ball by taking a wicket in the first over against West Ilsley (253-1), but another good batting effort secured Warfield a 21-run success.
The final game was against Division One West champions Pangbourne & Whitchurch.
After batting well to reach 264-0, Warfield looked to be set fair when their unbeaten opponents were left needing 16 from the final over.
However, a couple of boundaries left Pangbourne needing six from the final ball, only for Walsh to hold her nerve and bowl a dot ball to seal a five-wun victory and the title.
Warfield Robins – who won the Division Two East league stage – began the silver group with a convincing 37-run success against Peppard Stoke Row.
Sadie Allaway, Daisy Clifford and Lucy Waight were among the runs as the Robins posted 283-2, and the bowlers were also in form to seal the win.
Against Division Two West champions Kidmore End, Warfield totalled 278-1, and with Lucy Todd taking all three wickets, Kidmore were restricted to 263-3.
In the final game, Warfield scored 265-1 against Purley on Thames, but the Potters were left needing just one to win from the final ball.
However, Chloe Shaw sent down a fine delivery which the batsman missed, and despite trying to steal a single, wicketkeeper Katherine Lee took the bails off to complete a double triumph for Warfield.
To cap off a memorable day for the club, Robins skipper Waight was named player-of-the-tournament.
