SLOUGH Town joint-manager Jon Underwood was extremely disappointed with the performance after a 2-1 defeat at Concord Rangers on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.
The Rebels made their worst start to a new league season since 1974 after suffering
a third straight loss in the National League South.
Concord took the lead inside three minutes at The Aspect Arena with a goal from Decarrey Sheriff, but the visitors were unfortunate not to equalise when a Guy Hollis header hit the crossbar.
Slough levelled the scores when Ben Harris netted four minutes into the second half, but the hosts secured all three points with a winning goal just before the hour mark.
Underwood was however pleased with the response after
a 1-1 draw against Weymouthat Arbour Park on Tuesday.
He told the Observer: "I'm disappointed in how we played last weekend. The conditions were obviously difficult for both sides and it was never going to classic game.
"We were missing players and a little bit patched-up defensively but we weren't happy with the performance.
"The performance in midweek showed a reaction from that. It was a good response but last weekend was unacceptable by our standards. If you're going to compete in this league, what we gave as a team wasn't good enough.
"We were extremely disappointed, but I want to go back to the positive which was how we reacted in midweek."
