SLOUGH Town made their worst start to a new league season since 1974 after suffering a third straight defeat on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Rebels lost to

Dorking Wanderers

and

Hungerford Town

in the opening week and are still searching for their first points in the National League South after a 2-1 defeat at Concord Rangers.

Concord took the lead inside three minutes at The Aspect Arena with a goal from Decarrey Sheriff, but Slough were unfortunate not to equalise when a Guy Hollis header hit the crossbar.

The Rebels levelled the scores when Ben Harris netted four minutes into the second half, but the home side secured all three points with a winning goal just before the hour mark.

Slough joint-manager Jon Underwood tweeted: "Another defeat and another shocking goal to give away. No excuses and no defending our players who will need to improve very quickly."

Slough return to Arbour Park for the visit of Weymouth on Tuesday (7.45pm). The newly-promoted Terras are unbeaten in three matches this season, with two wins and a draw, and travel to Berkshire having beaten Chelmsford City at home last weekend.

Burnham saw their FA Cup extra preliminary round tie at home to Tring Athletic postponed after the sudden death of Luca Skivington, the son of Blues Chairman Glenn Skivington, earlier this week. The tie will now take place this Tuesday (7.45pm).

Chalvey Sports recorded their first win in the new season in Hellenic Division One East after a 1-0 victory against Wallingford Town. Aydn Coomber scored the only goal in the game during the first half at Arbour Park.

The Stabmonks make the trip to Berkshire rivals Wokingham & Emmbrook on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Holyport saw their league match at Chinnor postponed but return to action with a visit to Summerleaze from AFC Aldermaston on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Langley are back in action with a trip to Didcot Town Development on Tuesday (7.45pm).
