BURNHAM are now three matches without a home win in Division Two of the Home Counties Premier League after a draw against Thame Town on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

have not tasted success at The Memorial Ground since the victory over Dinton six weeks ago and this latest result has seen them stand in seventh position in the league table.

Thame, who are battling for one of the two promotion spots this season, won the coin toss and elected to bat first, reaching 260-5 from 58 overs.

Opening batsman Oliver Ebsworth-Burland carried his bat through for an unbeaten 105 runs from 152 balls, including 11 boundaries. It is his second half-century of the season and the third of his career, plus it takes his average for the summer to 36.86.

Hassam Mushtaq, batting at number six, made 78 from 47 , including 10 boundaries and two maximums, for a second-half century in this campaign and a new average of 33.12.

Ebsworth-Burland and Callum Russell (33) put on 51 runs for the second wicket, before the opener and Mushtaq added 114 in a fifth-wicket stand.

Raza Ali Dar was the pick of the Burnham bowling attack with his figures of 4-82 from 23 overs. The other wicket fell to Muhammad Haroon with 1-66 from 12 overs.

The home side managed 190-7 from 52 overs in response to draw for the second time in 10 league matches this season.

Number four Ali Dar top-scored with 92 runs from 118 balls, including 12 boundaries and one maximum hit. It is his fourth half-century of the season and takes his average to 45.00.

Asim Zaka, batting at number six, made 53 from 80, including eight boundaries and one maximum, for a second half-century this summer and a new average of 54.50. The pair put on 101 runs for the fifth wicket as Burnham recovered from 37-4 to 138-5.

The wickets were shared amongst the Thame bowlers with the pick of the attack being Mushtaq - 2-31 from 10 overs. Andrew Russell took 2-38 from 10 overs and Faisal Ali 2-41 from 14.

Burnham make the short trip to Buckinghamshire rivals Chesham this Saturday (11.30am start).

Cookham Dean are now four matches without a win in the league following their 30-run home defeat at the hands of Wokingham last weekend.

Wokingham won the toss and chose to bat first at Ricketts Field, the visitors making 180 runs all out from 56.1 overs.

Opening batsman Archie Carter was the leading runs scorer with 69 from 124 balls, including 10 boundaries. It is his third half-century of the season and takes his average for the summer to 58.43.

Sukhmeet Kang, batting at number seven, made 51 from 106, including seven boundaries, for a third half-century in this campaign and a new average of 65.50. The pair put on 74 runs for the fifth wicket.

bowling attack with his figures of 5-72 from 26.1 overs, which included Wokingham captain Stuart Parsons for a golden duck. It is his third five-wicket haul of the season, the fourth of his career, and takes his average down to 13.09.

Sahan Nanayakkara backed him up with figures of 4-75 from 21 overs, which included Max Uttley for a golden duck.

The home side managed 150 runs all out from 49.1 overs in response to suffer a sixth defeat from 10 matches this season, which leaves them in eighth position in the league table.

Number 11 Ahmed top-scored with 25 runs from 19 balls, whilst Uttley was the destroyer-in-chief for Wokingham with his figures of 6-35 from 14 overs. It is his second five-wicket haul of the summer and gives him a new average of 14.10.
