Former Royals loanee Lewis Baker faces an unclear future at parent club Chelsea after being sent home from their pre-season training camp.
Baker, who was impressive in a loan-spell at the Madejski last term, was one of eight players who were sent home early from Ireland last week.
He went to Ireland with Frank Lampard's squad, but his Chelsea career is now up in the air.
Baker and his seven team-mates returned to Chelsea's training ground in Cobham to undertake fitness work.
Baker, who has three years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, has an anxious wait to see if he is part of the Blues squad who are heading out on a tour of Japan, to take on Kawasaki Frontale and European giants Barcelona.
Chelsea then face Reading at the Madejski Stadium on July 28.
