RICHARD Kaye beat a field of more than 100 at East Berkshire to win the Jubilee Cup, a competition which has been played at the club since 1935.

Playing off a handicap of 18, he returned a nett 67 to finish one shot clear of runner-up Nick Robinson (2hcp) on countback from Craig Cunningham (11hcp).

The Centenary Cup was also played with Alan Davies (16hcp) returning a nett 67 to win by one shot from Tom Wilson (11hcp), who was second on countback with Nick Brown (5hcp) third.

Rod Clay followed up his victory in the Noel Thompson Plate last month by winning the Seniors Centenary Cup. Playing off a handicap of 24, he returned 39 points to win on countback from Keith Jones (13hcp).

The men’s midweek medal was won by Max Savochkin (4hcp) with a nett 67. Second place on countback went to Jonathan Tredray (7hcp) from David Taylor (6hcp), both returning nett 70.

A nine-hole midweek stableford competition was played with Glyn Crocombe (22hcp) returning 19 points to win by three on countback from Gareth Bowen (6hcp).

The club's men’s Senior Open attracted a field of 74 and was won by Chris Deevey (21hcp) from Sonning GC with 39 points. Bearwood Lakes' Roger Ford (11hcp) was second on 38 points with Christopher Norton (14hcp) from Sherborne GC third with 36 points

Donna Hunt hosted her ladies' Captain's Day for teams of three. Glynis Carroway (20hcp), Amanda Bancroft (20hcp) and Jane Quinn (16hcp) returned 79 points to win by four points from Heather Amor (14hcp), Paula Juckes (18hcp) and Linda Skilton (28).

Hunt (8hcp) is enjoying a great year. She returned gross scores of 82 and 78 for a 36-hole total of 160 to win the Silver and Bronze Championship, beating Gabi Heuchel (6hcp) who returned rounds of 81 and 90 for a total of 171.

The ladies' section's nine-hole stableford competitions saw Linda Dyne (12hcp) total 18 points to win by one from Val Taylor (40hcp,)
