BINFIELD continued their perfect Division 3a record by recording a seventh straight win with a seven-wicket cruise at home to Sulhamstead, writes Richard Ashton.

Ian Goddard (5-34) and Tom Andrews (3-41) were the destroyers-in-chief for Mike Staves' side, Jamie Seward (61) the only batsman to really get going as Sully were dismissed for 121.

The hosts slipped to 28-2 in reply, but opener Muhammad Furquan (54no) steadied the ship and saw his side to 123-3 in 31.1 overs.

Binfield host Wokingham 2nds in a top-of-the-table encounter this coming Saturday.

John McDonald (5-39) and Lewis Sharp (3-33) were in fine form with the ball for Wokingham 2nds (132-5) as they beat Boyne Hill 2nds (131) by five wickets, opener George Horsley making 64 to put the Oaks on track for victory.

Richard Reed top scored with 59 as Finchampstead 3rds beat Purley on Thames by 21 runs.

Rahul Thava (5-65) and Robbie Jeffrey (3-38) impressed with the ball as the Potters dismissed the hosts for 188, but Parth Patel (5-30) and Matt Harper (3-47) hauled Finches to victory as they dismissed their opponents for 167. George Wheeler top scored with 41 for Purley.

Eversley suffered a first defeat of the season and were leapfrogged by Ickenham at the top of the Division 2a table after their three-wicket reverse.

Skipper Tom Howorth made 62 and opener James Magowan 44, but the Boars were dismissed for 177 before Ickenham reached 178-7 in 47 overs, despite the best efforts of Aussie Nick McGuane (4-55).

Eversley visit Amersham 2nds this coming Saturday.

Max Carroll (103) struck a brilliant century as Division 2b leaders Hurst (176-2) cruised to an eight-wicket win against Finchampstead 2nds (174).

Connor Corlet (40) top scored for Finches, but off spinner Phil Higgs (7-54) produced a brilliant spell before skipper Lewis Smith (48no) helped Carroll ease his side home.

Hurst visit second-placed Beaconsfield on Saturday.

Second-bottom Royal Ascot (134) lost for the seventh straight week as they went down by four wickets to Bagshot (137-6).

Royal Ascot host Henley 2nds on Saturday.

Captain Jake Turner made 58 as Wokingham 3rds (144-4) climbed into the top two in Division 4a following their six-wicket success at home to Bracknell (143-9).

Bracknell visit Theale & Tilehurst this Saturday.

Division 5b table-toppers Eversley 2nds (87-3) continued their 100 per cent record with a straight-forward seven-wicket victory against Royal Ascot 2nds (86), but second-placed Binfield 2nds (140) slipped to a 44-run reverse against Maidenhead & Bray 2nds (184).

In Division 6b, Finchampstead 4ths drew with Fleet 2nds at home.

Finches made 243-6 with Chris Ward hitting 64 and Emily Cunningham 41. Fleet finished on 201-8 with Cunningham taking 4–61 to complete her best ever day in men's cricket.

Tom Hibbs made 54 to help Hurst 2nds (216) gain the better of their draw with Reading 3rds (175-7).

Binfield 3rds (171-6) remain in the thick of the Division 7a title race after beating Slough 5ths (170) by five wickets.

Hugh Doyle (4-27) starred with the ball as Wokingham 4ths (119-3) eased past Newbury 2nds (118) by seven wickets, Steve Bendall making an unbeaten 56 to guide the Oaks to a convincing win.

Royal Ascot 3rds (118) went down by six wickets to Wargrave 3rds (119-4).

Harry Leach made a brilliant unbeaten 100 to fire Division 8a leaders Eversley 3rds (175-6) to a seventh straight success as they beat second-placed Bradfield 2nds (72) by 103 runs.

Andy Bishop took 4-13 for Wokingham 4ths (126), but they were edged out by 12 runs by Thatcham Town 3rds (138).

Bracknell 2nds (111) lost by 65 runs to Theale & Tilehurst 3rds (176-8), but Finchampstead 5ths collected 20 points after Boyne Hill 4ths conceded their game.

Royal Ascot 4ths (106) were thumped by 124 runs at Bagshot 3rds (230-4).

Graeme Ellis (4-28) and Andrew Thornton (4-38) were in fine form with the ball as Eversley 4ths (181-4) overcame Sonning 3rds (179) by six wickets in Division 9a.

Seb Powers made an unbeaten 53 to steer the Boars home in 39.2 overs.

Roger Heath's 5-24 was not enough to prevent Wokingham Oaks & Acorns 141) from losing to table-toppers Stoke Green 4ths (181) by 40 runs.

BINFIELD's dream of a trip to Lord's ended in the last 32 of the National Village Cup as they went down by 112 runs to Oxfordshire champions Cumnor.

Tom Andrews (3-31 from eight overs) was the only home bowler to really avoid punishment as the Bears smashed their was to a colossal 355-7 in their 40 overs.

Chris Morgan (58no), Sean Ennis (51), Andrews (44) and Shaun Miller (42) gave their all in the run chase, but Binfield were ultimately only able to reach 243-7 at the end of a high-scoring clash.
