SLOUGH have suffered consecutive defeats at the start to the new Home Counties Premier Cricket League season after a 253-run loss at High Wycombe on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

were beaten at home to Buckingham Town, champions of Division Two last season, on the opening day and were then brushed aside at London Road last weekend.

Slough won the coin toss and elected to field first, but High Wycombe put the bowling to the sword and amassed an imposing total 364-4 from their allotted 50 overs.

Captain Dan Marles, batting at number three, carried his bat through for an unbeaten 154 runs from 141 balls. His innings included 16 boundaries and five maximum hits.

Opening batsman Conrad Louth, a star player at Slough last season, made a century (100) from as many balls, with 11 boundaries and three maximums.

Number four Lloyd Paternott added 70 from just 38 deliveries with 11 boundaries and one six.

Louth and Marles put on 158 runs for the second wicket, before Marles and Paternott added 119 in their partnership for the third wicket.

Harish Kakani was the best of the seven bowlers Slough used with his figures of 2-76 from 10 overs.

Ikhlaq Nawaz claimed 1-39 from 10 overs, while Rishi Sharath took the wicket of Louth in his 1-61 from his 10 overs.

The visitors were bowled out for just 111 runs in 32.5 overs to leave the Upton Court Park-based side still searching for a first win this season.

Opening batsman Mohammed Avas top-scored with 30 runs from 58 balls, which included two boundaries.

Feroz Baig, batting at number five, made 24 from 38 balls, with three boundaries, but only Kakani (19) and Sharath (17) could also reach double figures.

Cameron Parsons was the chief destroyer for High Wycombe with his figures of 4-11 from 6.5 overs. His wickets included Adam Ali for just a single run and Fasil Noor for two.

Adam Dobb took the scalps of Avas and Slough captain Goutham Shrikrishna for a six-ball duck in his 2-7 from five overs.

The other wickets fell to Jonathan Burden (2-23) from six overs and Conner Haddow (2-42) from 10.

Slough welcome Horspath to Upton Court Park this Saturday (11.30am start). Horspath travel following their five-wicket defeat at home to Banbury last weekend.

Datchet have made it back-to-back wins following their promotion to Division One after an 11-run victory against Aston Rowant on Saturday.

Aston Rowant won the toss and chose to field first at The Wally Gage Memorial Ground, with the home side making 240-8 from their allotted 50 overs.

Opening batsman Joe Barrett was the top scorer with 75 runs from 63 balls, with nine boundaries and two maximum hits.

Vishal Aeri, batting at number seven, finished unbeaten with 62 from 55 balls, with seven boundaries and one six.

Dominic Whatman was the pick of the six Aston Rowant bowlers after taking the wickets of the top four batsman in his 4-36 from 10 overs.

Elliott Mathews took 2-36 while the other wickets fell to Alexander Barras (1-29) and James Fitzjohn (1-46).

The visitors were bowled out for 229 runs from 49.2 overs in response as Datchet continue to make the perfect start to the new season.

Opening batsman Thomas Condon top-scored with 54 runs from 64 balls, which included six boundaries and one maximum hit. Condon put on 83 runs for the second wicket with Hayden Rossouw (27).

Captain Joshua Smith, batting at number four, added 48 from 78, with three boundaries, while Christopher Watling made 20.

bowlers with his figures of 4-46 from 9.2 overs, which included the wicket of Gordon Harris for a golden duck.

He was backed up by Zaheer Sher, a long-time Chairman and Captain at Slough, who took the wickets of Condon and Rossouw in his 3-43 from 10 overs.

The other wickets fell to Tom Lambert (1-28), captain Steven Naylor (1-47) and Oliver Smithson (1-48).

Datchet make the trip to bottom-of-the-table Tring Park this Saturday (11.30am). Their hosts suffered a nine-wicket defeat at Henley last weekend.

Burnham continue to set the pace in Division Two following their 20-run win on the Duckworth Lewis System against Buckinghamshire rivals Chesham at The Memorial Ground.

Batting first, Burnham made 264 runs all out from 49.3 overs with Raza Ali Dar top-scoring with 91 runs, while captain Rizwan Nadeem added 39 and Obaid Sarwar 37.

The best of the Chesham bowlers were Matthew Rance (4-45) and Samiullah Sajid (4-48).

The visitors reached 215-9 from 39 overs in response to fall short of the target. Opener Rance top-scored with 68 and Robin Pritchard made 54.

The pick of the Burnham bowlers was Muhammad Haroon with his figures of 4-32 from eight overs.

Burnham travel to Oxford this Saturday (11.30am). The hosts having won at Amersham.
