THE Piggott and The Holt head the six teams who will be battling for the Reading District Schools League Girls' A Final title at Palmer Park today (Thursday).

They head the six qualifiers following the three rounds held in recent weeks.

The Wargrave girls accumulated a total of 95 points, two more than their rivals from Wokingham.

But they may not have it their own way as Maiden Erlegh secured 88.5 points, with Highdown not far behind on 85. The Abbey, with 77, and Prospect, 76.5, complete the final line-up.

The B Final will involve Bradfield College, who totalled 75 points from their three matches, Kendrick (74), Bohunt (73), St Crispins (67), Maiden Erlegh Wokingham (64) and Maiden Erlegh Reading (62.5).

The last named were invited to take part following the withdrawal of Denefield, who finished seventh overall with 76 points.

A total of 24 teams were involved in the league matches.

The Piggott also head the six qualifiers for the boys’ final after accruing 101 points from their three matches.

They finished just two points ahead of Forest with Piggott B and Blue Coat a close up third and fourth respectively on 89 points.

Maiden Erlegh Wokingham (72) and Trinity (70) complete the line-up.

Denefield (77) had qualified, but, like the girls, are unable to make finals day.

The boys’ B final will be contested by Bohunt, Park House, Reading School, Maiden Erlegh Reading, Bulmershe and Hugh Faringdon.
