TONY Coventry won Division One of the men’s April medal at West Berks shooting 79 for a nett 71.

Andy Robbings was second with gross 80, nett 72, while Gary Robinson shot 83, nett 73 to take third place.

Jon Bale won Division Two with nett 71, Nigel Huszarik took second place with 73 ahead of Lee Nicholson who scored 74 to take third spot.

Rob Griffiths, nett 70 won Division Three, John Carroll claimed second spot with 71 and Paul Barton with 75 was third.

Barton also won the men’s midweek medal with nett 71, Greg Collins coming second with 75 and beating Andy Robbings on count-back.

Gale McAuley won the ladies’ monthly medal with nett 77, beating Sian Soanes on count-back with Georgie Seaman taking third place 78.

Mary Harwood won the ladies’ April stableford with 32 points, Aileen Summers was a point behind in second place and Seaman third on 28.

Nick Bishop won the first Wednesday nine-hole qualifier of the season for the 2019 Liddiard Cup with 22 points.

There was a three-way tie on 21 for second spot with the placing of Ian Lewin, Bernie Holden and Chris Prior decided on count-back.

Tina Mulford won the ladies’ winter eclectic competition which runs from October 1 to March 31 with 59.5, Jane Brackenbury was second on 61.0 and McAuley third on 61.5.

The M4 Seniors Winter League team lost 4-0 in the quarter-finals away to Magnolia Park and the men’s Saturday team followed up last week’s win at home to Sandford Springs with a fine 3½-2½ win at Studley Wood.

The ladies lost their first friendly match of the season played at home against Donnington Grove.

It was a close encounter with every match decided on the 18th green, with the visitors prevailing 2½-1½.
