WASHINDI Trampoline Club grabbed 12 podium places at the regional team qualifier competition in Eastleigh, with seven competitors progressing through to the regional team finals in the Birmingham Barclaycard Arena.

Fred Martin, Anna Wessendorff, Seren Duggan, Lauren Nield all qualified to the team finals in their NDP categories in either first or second place, with Thomas Hue, Masha Danilova and Russell Cooper all qualifying in their disability categories as winners.

Ewan Bolt and Nia Slatter just missed out on qualifying by coming in third place so are in the reserve spots for the Southern team, with Mia Gardner and Lydia Osborn missing out on the qualifying score by 0.1.

Elaine Rushby, from Washindi, said: "As a small club, we are proud to have the third highest amount of competitors qualify to be part of the southern region team and look forward to training with the rest of the clubs at the regional squad training day.

"All our coaches at recognise the hard work and dedication our competitors continue to put into their training, especially those who have moved up levels to compete in the New Year."

The next target for the blub's members are the National League and English Championships competitions as well as the British Gymnastics Spring series.
