BINFIELD FC manager Roger Herridge has confirmed he will not be leaving the club at the end of the season, writes Dave Wright.

A few weeks ago, following a bad run of results, he did think a change of manager would benefit the Moles, but he now intends to stay although he is planning to bring in someone to share the managerial duties.

But there is some bad news for Binfield with Ian Davies ruled out for the rest of this season.

The goal ace was injured when scoring in their 3-1 extra-time win at Ascot United in the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup semi-final last week.

Davies' replacement Eddie Lee went on to score the second goal in the first minute of extra time with Sean Moore putting the issue beyond doubt early in the second period.

Binfield, who beat Thatcham in last year's final, were due to defend their crown against Ardley United at Fairford last night (Tuesday).

Without a game last weekend, the Moles face Fairford at Hill Farm Lane in the Hellenic League Premier Division this coming Saturday and will be home again next Monday (7.45pm) when Shrivenham are the visitors.

Wokingham & Emmbrook complete their Division One East programme with two games at Larges Lane, with Thame Rangers the visitors on Saturday and Penn & Tylers Green next Monday (7.45pm).

Eversley & California twice came from behind to win 5-2 at Cove in the clash between the bottom two sides in Division One of the Combined Counties League.

They went a goal down to a six-minute penalty, but Ross McKernan equalised in the 17th minute, only for the hosts to regain the lead on 25 minutes.

Nick Cooper made it 2-2 just before half-time and five minutes into the second period Brad Brown put the Boars ahead for the first time.

Five minutes later Jordan Goater hammered in the fourth with Ryan Whyte adding the fifth on 55 minutes.

This coming Saturday, second-bottom Eversley are home to Kensington Borough, who lost 1-0 at Sandhurst Town last weekend with Idris Kamara heading the winner 15 minutes from time.

The Fizzers, who remain sixth in the standings, visit Fleet Spurs on Saturday.
