BARKHAM Athletic saw their Thames Valley Church League title hopes suffer a major setback as they lost 2-1 at home to Greyfriars, Neil Hallet and Mark Massey with the visitors' goals.

The top two – YMCA Newbury and Tilehurst Albion – both collected three points after West Reading and Brookside St Laurence respectively conceded their fixtures.

Lewis Day and Andrew Stroud both bagged braces as Beacon Church, Camberley, walloped YMCA United 8-0.

They were also aided by an own goal, with Sam Gomarsall, Dan Bolt and Jordan Hays getting the other goals.

Dave Morgan was named man-of-the-match for the hosts.

Sean Hastings struck a brilliant hat-trick as Reading Saints won 3-1 at Bethel United, while Wycliffe Wanderers edged out Wycliffe United 2-1.

McKoy Palmer and Michael Roberts netted for the hosts, with Dermot Johnson on target for United.

BARTON Rovers Ladies were held to a 2-2 draw at New Milton in the Southern Region Premier League.

Rachel Allwright put the visitors in front in just the fourth minute, although New Milton equalised through Lucy Slater.

Rovers went back in front before half-time when Vicky Carvill collected a Chloe Procter pass before firing home.

However, Olivia Watts levelled for the Oxfordshire side, and despite Allwright and Jade Scott having late chances, Rovers had to settle for a point.

In Division Two South of the Thames Valley Counties League, Barton Rovers Royals were outclassed 14-0 at unbeaten Abingdon Town.

Nicole Beesley and Issy Cording netted for Newbury Development in their 2-0 win at Stanford-in-the-Vale, Claire Turley the stand-out performer.
