THE past weekend was the last of the RDAA Club matches on their venues for the current season, with one on the Thames and two on the Kennet & Avon Canal, writes Alan Hughes.

Prestcold A.C. were on the Thames at Wallingford B section and found the going tough.

Graham Hawkins took the honours with 5lbs 12ozs of roach and skimmers fishing a groundbait feeder.

The runner-up was John Maine with 3lbs 11ozs of similar species and with a similar net in third place was Gordon McGee with 2lbs 14ozs.

Froxfield B section was the venue for Newtown's match at Hungerford on the Kennet & Avon Canal.

Despite some low weights Terry Smith won the match quite comfortably with 2lbs 10ozs of perch and skimmers.

In second place was Wally Reddings with a level pound of skimmers and gudgeon and completing the trio was John Clements with 5ozs.

Bracknell Avocets held their match on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Padworth and they found the going hard on this venue with only two anglers weighing in.

Dave Brooks took top spot with 4ozs of gudgeon and in second place was Barry Morton with 3ozs.

Away from RDAA club matches, TRBLAS fished their section of the Thames at Hardwicke and here again the fishing was difficult in the high wind.

Liam Page-Smith took top spot with 6lbs 12ozs of skimmers and Colin Wainwright took the runner-up spot with 6lbs 9ozs which was mostly made up of one bream.

Chris Humphreys took third place with 1lb 9ozs of small chub and roach.

Reading Fishing Club were at Child Beale and Andy Woolsey took first place with 55lbs of bream.

Second place went to Malcolm Vigar with 17lbs of the same species and in third place was Terry Littlewood with 16lb 2ozs.
