FC Bracknell Under 7 Whites and FCB Blues played each other for the first time in a friendly and they delighted their coaches and parents with an excellent display of football packed with good passing and creative play.

They also saw some brave defending from both sides with the goalkeepers, Jack Collins and Ethan You, making excellent saves.

Martin Olah, Finley Hockley and Frankie Streak-Holzman all got on the scoresheet.

There were difficult choices when it came to handing out trophies, but they went to Whites' Bronte Read (coaches' award) and Martin Olah (parents), while Aiden Ncube earned the parents' award for the Blues.

Lauren Cobb, with a superb left-footed effort, scored the goal of the game during a fine performance for FCB U8s in their home game with Pinewood.

Freddie Devine was named his side's man-of-the-match.

On a misty and murky morning, FCB also held another of their well-attended Soccer Schools at the weekend and it finished with a match between children and their parents.

Liam Dennis secured the player-of-the-week award.

MAN-OF-THE-MATCH Ellis Wells was on target for Bracknell Athletic Under 10 Razors as they returned to action following a few weeks off with a home game against Holyport Hurricanes.

Joe Ferguson also impressed as a stand-in goalkeeper.

Bracknell Athletic Spitfires were beaten 5-2 by Laurel Park Sting Jets, although 'keeper Joe Gaffney and right back Maxi Hayter both impressed with their team under pressure in the first half.

Spitfires rallied in the second period, though, and came away with a couple of goals thanks to a 30-yard screamer from the hard-working Harry Elliot-Snowball – his first goal for the side – and a nifty effort from Tom Probert.

The latter's fine display in midfield earned him man-of-the-match honours.
