EVERSLEY & California were involved in an incredible Division One match at the ESA sports ground, losing 6-5 to FC Deportivo Galicia on Saturday.

They got off to a flying start with goals from Ross McKernan and Will Shaw, their new signing from Binfield.

The visitors halved their deficit with a goal which looked suspiciously offside before Sam Knight made it 3-1.

After a second for Deportivo, McKernan struck again and it was looking good for the Boars at half-time.

But they conceded two goals early in the second half to leave the score level at 4-4 and then Deportivo took the lead for the first time in the game.

McKernan completed his hat-trick to restore parity again, only to see the visitors reply with their sixth.

Deportivo then had a player sent off, but Eversley were unable to take advantage and so slumped to another defeat, leaving them third-from-bottom of the table.

On Tuesday of last week, they also made their exit from the Southern Cup, losing 4-2 at Hanworth Villa.

Their next scheduled fixture is home to tailenders Fleet Spurs on Tuesday of next week (7.30pm).

SANDHURST Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Chessington & Hook United in a mid-table encounter at Bottom Meadow.

Luke Burrows headed them in front from Luke Cox's well-placed free-kick five minutes before half-time, but the visitors equalised through Marcus Bowyer on 70 minutes.

Both sides also struck the crossbar, while the visitors finished with 10 men after Kieran Campbell had been sent off off two yellow-card offences.

Sandhurst are away to British Airways at The Orchard, Bedfont, this coming Saturday.
