READING FC forward Sone Aluko is being linked with a move to the Chinese Super League.
He was left out of Jose Gomes’ squad at Sheffield United today and could be set to join Beijing Renhe which also belongs to Royals owners Dai Yongge and sister Dai Xiu Li.
Aluko started in the 2-1 midweek win against Blackburn Rovers but was taken off at half time and did not travel with the squad to Bramall Lane.
It is now suggested the 29-year-old could have played his last game for the club as Reading still have plenty of time to complete a deal before the Chinese transfer window closes at the end of February.
Aluko has struggled to win over Reading supporters since his club-record £7m move from Fulham in summer 2017.
He has scored four goals in 59 games for Royals and is under contract until June 2021.
Gomes has stuck to his word by trimming the squad he inherited from Paul Clement when he took over the reins in December to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
