CHALFONT Saints Under-10s (U10) thrashed Maidenhead Warriors 11-1 in the Thames Valley Football Development Cup on Sunday.
The Saints coped well with the wind and muddy conditions to create numerous chances inside the first 10 minutes, but their shots went wide or were blocked by the resolute Maidenhead defence.
Their persistence paid off and the goals started to fly in, four were scored by the end of the first half.
The Warriors reorganised at half-time and managed to create a chance or two of their own, however Chalfont continued to prove dangerous on the counter-attack and added seven further goals to their tally.
The scoreline could have been even higher had the Maidenhead keeper, Oliver Yeadon, not been in fine form. He even managed to save a well-hit penalty.
The only goal for the Warriors came from a Robert Hern corner kick that was knocked in from short range by Alexander Bledge.
In the U12 section, FC Explorers Blues beat Chalfont Saints 2-1, the same scoreline FC Explorers Reds enjoyed over Delaford Colts Blues.
Marish Wizards Reds lost 17-0 at home to Langley, while Slough Town Junior romped to a 10-1 victory against Golden Eagles and Singh Sabha Slough Youth won 2-0 against Burnham Junior Leopards Blue.
