READING FC full-back Jordan Obita has started his recovery from a third knee op – with the help of pizza.
The 25-year-old went under the knife on Tuesday morning in a bid to be fit for pre-season training.
He has not played for Royals since September 2017 and has already had two procedures.
He also spent time in the US last summer at a specialist physiotherapy centre attended by some of the world’s top athletes.
And after his latest surgery this week, his wife, Scarlett Abblett Obita, tweeted: “I’m now waiting for him to come back from recovery and demand a pizza like he usually does.”
Jordan’s out of surgery, surgeon is pleased with how it went! I’m now waiting for him to come back from recovery and demand a pizza like he usually does 😂🙈 thanks for all your lovely messages 💙

Obita’s injury was caused by a freak accident when he slid off the Madejski Stadium pitch during a 1-1 draw with Hull City on September 23, 2017.
He ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and is now on his third bout of surgery.
Obita, who has 18 months left on his contract, has been keeping Royals fans updated with his progress via social media.
He said: “Surgery this morning went well. It’s been a long, hard 16 months so far!!! The hard work and determination won’t ever stop. I’m confident and positive enough that I will be fine. Now it’s time to recover and build myself back up and get myself back on that pitch. Thank you for all the support and messages.”
Operation tommorrow morning..To sort out any issues, that could be the reasons for me having swelling!! I’ve had great support from day 1 from everyone. 🤙🏾🤘🏾
