MARTIN Adams and Mark Banks proved too strong for Curzon Club A as Kingfisher B ran out 8-2 winners in Division One of the Reading & District .

Cath Venning was in fine form for Kennet Valley Free Church A, beating Duncan Groves 13-11 7-11 13-11 14-12 to seal her team's 6-4 victory over Tidmarsh A. Earlier, Venning had beaten John Golding 8-11 11-8 11-6 7-11 13-11, while star men Hari Gehlot and Elson Costa both got trebles as Kingfisher A made it 14 wins in a row as they beat Kingfisher C 7-3.

Andy Wang and Jeremy Willis were both in top form as Sonning Common & Peppard B beat clubmates Sonning Common & Peppard C 8-2.

In Division Two, Springfield A toppled a two-man Kingfisher E side 10-0 as they edge nearer to clinching promotion.

Graham Mendick’s treble and two from Jingshun Huang saw Milestone A win narrowly against Sonning Common & Peppard D 6-4, Eric Walker starring for Sonning Common with two wins which included a 7-11 11-9 4-11 11-6 11-8 win over Huang.

Kingfisher F moved clear into third place after their 8-2 victory against Curzon Club B, Roger Pritchard starring with a maximum.

Our Lady of Peace C were beaten 7-3 by the B team clubmates, Johnson Xu with a treble as well as teaming up with Alistair Richardson to win a thrilling doubles set 7-11 5-11 11-7 11-5 17-15.

Our Lady of Peace A were 6-4 winners at Tilehurst Methodists A, despite a good treble from Tilehurst’s Eric Van Looy.

An injury-hit Curzon Club C went down 10–0 to Springfield B in Division Three, for whom Stephen Leggett, Seth Martin and Rob Wilkie all gained trebles.

Kingfisher G won 7-3 at Sonning Common & Peppard E with David Wells and Gwynne Penny both getting maximums, while Reading FC A won 8-2 at Our Lady of Peace D.

Jazz Dhillon was the star by winning all three in straight games.

Springfield C gained vital points when they beat bottom side Kingfisher H 8-2, Jason King gaining a hat-trick.

Tidmarsh D beat Sonning Sports B 6–4 mainly thanks to Terry Hardie, who gained a three-straight maximum.

In Division Four, Sandeep Burande scored a further treble which, along with a double from Meriel Low and a single from Gill Bennett, secured Kingfisher I’s 6-4 win over Our Lady of Peace E.

OLOP’s points came thanks to two wins for Andrew Adair one from Jan Polnik, plus the doubles.

Despite a hat-trick from Roy Hull, Tilehurst Methodists C needed David Bates to win the final set to draw 5-5 with Milestone C, for whom Olly Bonser and Tony Hayden both recorded doubles, while Carl Edlind won once.

Although Sonning Sports C could only field two players in their match against Kennet Valley Free Church B, John Scott and Jude O'Halloran only lost to Steve Christelow and thus still managed to draw the match 5-5.

A maximum from the in-form Joe Bull, along with doubles from both Harry Edwards and Keith Greene, helped Reading FC B win 8-2 at Springfield E, Marcello Caramma and Paul Martin each winning one set for Springfield.

Milestone C and Sonning Common & Peppard G also played their postponed fixture, which the Commoners won 6-4, thanks to doubles from Ian Davenport and Jim Warren, along with a single from Arran Reeve, with Milestone’s points courtesy of doubles from both Carl Edlind and John Evans.

Julian James got a treble as Sonning Common & Peppard F won narrowly 6-4 at Tidmarsh E.
