A PEDRO Gonzaga double and goals from Andrew Hodgkins and substitute Ed Carpenter helped second-placed Berks County Reserves keep their Division Three title hopes alive following a 4-2 win at Woodley United A in their top-of-the-table clash, writes Richard Ashton.

A wonderful hat-trick from Sean Kelly, allied to strikes from Jack Smillie and Nathan Manser, steered Twyford & Ruscombe to an exciting 5-3 home success against Pangbourne, Luke Short with a brace and Luke Stroud on target for the visitors.

Henley Town moved up to fifth with a 2-0 triumph at second-bottom Goring United Reserves.

In the Premier Division, Woodcote Stoke Row closed the gap on leaders Cookham Dean to just two points following a dominant 6-0 destruction of home side Woodley United Royals.

Two Johnny Adey goals and strikes from James Worsfold – a sublime volley – Sam Green and Ed Gadd had the visitors 5-0 up at the break, and with Gadd bagging a second after the interval, it was an easy day at the office for Sam Tucker's men.

Marlow United leapfrogged Mortimer into third after winning a dramatic encounter 3-1 at the Alfred Palmer Memorial Playing Fields.

Stefan Allen put Mortimer in front, only for Chris Hurst to score twice for the visitors – the second a penalty – to make it 2-1 at the interval.

Liam Bushay made it 3-1 on 51 minutes, but a mad final 20 minutes began when Marlow were reduced to 10 men with goalkeeper Matt Cannings red carded for handling outside the area.

Bushay followed shortly after, and when a squabble between Mortimer's Paul Taplin and Jordan Gumbs saw both receive their marching orders for second bookable offences, it was 10 against eight in favour of the home side.

However, Mortimer could not make their numerical advantage count, and Marlow are now four points off top, but with two games in hand.

Matt Booth was on target for Wokingham & Emmbrook Reserves, but a Tom Nower double and a Dan Money strike fired Berks County to a 3-1 victory in their derby.

Darnell Reid's effort was not enough for second-bottom Wrightchoice & Unity CSA as they went down 4-1 at home to Westwood United, while a Rayn Farmer strike earned Burghfield FC a 1-1 draw with Reading City U23.

Tinash Gwavava, Jordan Cox, Jesse Bowers and Grant Kemp all netted for Division One title favourites Newbury as they made it 10 wins from 10 with a 4-1 triumph at Westwood United Reserves.

Maidenhead Town moved into second spot after hammering Eldon Celtic 7-2, Jack Northway with a hat-trick and the other goals coming from Conor Breslin, Mitchell Burley, Duarte Surpanu and Daniel Hoskins.

The prolific Ryan Adams struck a treble for Reading YMCA Rapids as they crushed White Eagles 6-0, Zakir Chowdhary, Charlie Cooke and substitute George Balaam also on the scoresheet.

Dan Townson and replacement Adam Farrell got the goals for Hurst in their 2-0 home win against Finchampstead, while Cookham Dean Reserves produced a minor upset with a 4-0 cruise at third-placed FC Imaan Lions.

Andrew Johnstone-Archer's effort was enough for Division Two table-toppers Mortimer Reserves to move 13 points clear with a 1-0 victory at Richings Park Reserves.

Alex Ray came off the bench to score in Woodcote Stoke Row's 1-1 draw at Phoenix Old Boys, while Hurst Reserves won 1-0 at AFC Corinthians.

Berks County Reserves moved back to the top of Division Four by a point – albeit having played four more games than Datchet Village – after they thrashed AFC Corinthians A 5-1.

Andrew Wilcox got the only goal of the game as Phoenix Old Boys Reserves won 1-0 at Farnham Royal Mavericks, while Westwood United Development edged out Harchester Hawks Development 2-1.

Wraysbury Village crashed out of the Slough Cup following a 4-1 penalty shoot-out defeat at Singh Sabha, the two sides having drawn 1-1, while Rotherfield United exited the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup after losing 2-1 at Wallingford Town.

Maidenhead Town Reserves marched into the semi-finals of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup with a dominant 4-0 home win against Bletchley Town.

Daryll Wearn, Nathan Harrowell, Matt Clarke and Adrian Manez were the goalscorers.

They are joined by Datchet Village, with Kudzai Chunga, Denzel Howard and Adam Henchcliffe all on target in their 3-1 win against MK Wanderers.
