LOXWOOD did just enough to see off Reading & District Sunday League Division One basement boys Woodley United 3-2 after a below par performance.

A dismal first half showing saw the game goalless at the interval, but three half-time changes finally sparked some life into the visitors.

Sub Steve Barter made an immediate impact as his cross forced an own goal and fellow sub Steve Roberts then set up Jamie Turner for a long-range second.

Woodley pegged one back with 15 minutes to go, but man-of-the-match Warren Baxter made it 3-1 after latching onto a long throw from Luke Parsons with his first goal for Loxwood.

Woodley would still not lie down and another long range thunderbolt made for an interesting last seven minutes as Loxwood were forced to hold on at the end, with another half-time introduction, Will Graham, keeping his side organised to see out the game.

Adam Richardson and Arran Wells were the Woodley goalscorers.

In Division Two, Southcote Colts Reserves beat Southbank 5-3, while second-placed Whitley Athletic overcame Wokingham & Emmbrook 4-2.

Rose & Thistle took over at the top of Division Three after edging past Mortimer 2-1, Andrew Johnstone-Archer with the hosts' consolation.

AFC Pangbourne drew 2-2 with FC Showcase.

Caversham United won 3-1 at home against Borussia Teeth in Division Four, while Coley Park Reserves conceded their game with Burghfield Reserves.
