REAL Milan were knocked out of the Bob Smith Cup after a late Sam Windsor strike inflicted a 4-3 home defeat by FC Bentons.

It was Milan who took the early lead as Reece Warwick slipped through a pass to Conrad Joseph, who broke clear of the defence to slot past the on-rushing Bentons keeper.

Bentons struck back when a Jamie Di Guiseppe cross found the towering Windsor unmarked to head in the equaliser.

Milan, however, went back in front moments later as Cheyenne Cripps got clear of the Bentons defence and set up Joseph for his second goal with a smart finish inside the box.

Milan had a great chance moments later to extend their lead as Jack Banks went through on goal, but his shot was way off target.

More sloppy defending by Milan allowed an unmarked Di Guiseppe to fire home to make it 2-2, and while some fine goalkeeping at both ends kept the scores level, with just a few minutes to go before half time Bentons finally took the lead through Jerrel Gumbs.

The second half was more of a cagey affair as Milan went chasing for the equaliser, but some fine Bentons defending kept them at bay.

Bentons had chances to kill the game off themselves at the other end, but some good saves by Hassan Hussain denied them and also twice Milan blocked on the line. Milan then lost top scorer Cripps to a hamstring injury, but Banks again went close before the hosts finally got the equaliser to make it 3-3.

Good work from man-of-the-match Billy Canavan put through the impressive Luke Van Spall, who sneaked in and poked in a finish past the advancing keeper.

With the game looking destined for extra time, Bentons put in a long free-kick into the box, and despite Milan getting the first header the ball went high to the back post where Windsor headed in the winner off the post with only five minutes remaining.
