WINDSOR marched into the third round of the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup with a crushing 4-0 home win against Royal Wootton Bassett on Tuesday night, writes Richard Ashton.

The hosts opened the scoring at Stag Meadow on 33 minutes, George Gould putting his side in front from Jamie Di Giuseppe's corner.

The lead was doubled just three minutes later, Di Giuseppe again the provider with Andy Ingram putting the ball in the back of the net.

Di Giuseppe had an effort saved before Windsor made it 3-0 on the stroke of half time, Matt Stockhill setting-up Ingram for his second of the evening.

Windsor had dominated the first half and could have been even further in front, having had 14 shots on goal – including eight on target – in comparison with their opponents solitary effort.

Rob Lazarczuk struck the bar eight minutes into the second half, but after Ingram missed his chance to seal his hat-trick by nodding wide, Dan Roberts made it 4-0 with a fine finish.

Windsor continued to boss the game for the final half-hour, with Roberts having a couple of chances to double his tally.

However, Wootton Bassett never looked like coming back and Windsor went through easily.

Windsor's Hellenic League Premier Division trip to Longlevens was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on Saturday.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Mick Woodham's men – who sit 12th in the table but with at least a game in hand on every side above them bar Binfield – are at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp (3pm).
