LEIGH Allen got the only goal of the game as Berks County stunned high-flying Mortimer 1-0 to record just a second victory of the season, writes Richard Ashton.

Cookham Dean are the new leaders after inflicting a first defeat of the season on hosts Marlow United, the table-toppers sealing a 2-1 victory.

Goals from Nathan Lishman and Jack Woodbridge put Dean in charge, and despite Darren Rockell's late header, third-placed Marlow could not find an equaliser.

Woodcote Stoke Row climbed to second in the table after beating visitors Reading City U23 4-1.

The visitors took a second-minute lead, but Cote hit back shortly afterwards when a fine cross from Frank Dillon on the left was whipped across the box before player-manager Sam Tucker struck the ball into the corner of the net.

Jamie Froude in the Woodcote goal pulled off a fine save from a one-on-one situation to keep the score at 1-1, and midway through the first half the hosts found themselves ahead.

Tucker picked up the ball just outside the Reading City penalty area before playing a through ball to Ben Rusher, who slotted the ball past the 'keeper to put the hosts 2-1 up.

The hosts moved further in front after a fine cross from Ryan Corbett was met with a great leap from Sam Green, who headed the ball back towards the front post where Tucker converted.

Woodcote should have been 4-1 up a couple of minutes later, Corbett again picking the ball up before playing a clever pass to the back post where Dillon found himself in acres of room, but somehow fired the ball over the crossbar.

The home side made it 4-1 10 minutes into the second half and it was Rusher and Tucker who again combined.

The ball looped up into the air in the City penalty area and it was Rusher who leapt highest to head the ball across the six-yard box where Tucker was on hand to complete his hat-trick.

Froude made another fine save to preserve WSR's lead, while the woodwork came to City's aid on a couple of occasions.

Captain Tommy Chapman was the hosts' man-of-the-match after producing a tireless display in midfield.
