ASCOT United hot-shot Nathan Minhas has joined National League South leaders Billericay Town on a two-year contract, but will stay with the Yellamen on loan for the rest of the season.

A club spokesman said: “Following positive discussions between the two clubs, we are delighted to see Nathan take this opportunity to test himself at a higher level. He goes with the very best wishes of everyone.

“As part of the deal, Nathan (pictured) insisted on the loan agreement, reflecting his commitment to the squad and the management team. He remains focused on the current season and is desperate to help Ascot maintain their current form.”

Ascot manager Jamie Tompkins said: “We are delighted to see Nathan sign for Billericay and we would like to congratulate him on a thoroughly deserved move after the number of fantastic performances he has displayed since joining us in July.

“His transfer also demonstrates the commitment and passion of our management team for developing young players and allowing them the opportunity to grow and fulfil their potential.

“We would all like to thank Nathan for his contributions so far and he will go with everyone’s best wishes but for now, we look forward to seeing his continued progression alongside the squad throughout the season.”

As part of the transfer deal, Billericay will also play a pre-season friendly at the Racecourse ground ahead of next season.

The 21-year-old forward is the leading scorer in the Hellenic League with 20 goals from 17 appearances.
