Eleven teams, making a total of 44 anglers plus one individual, were booked in for the 50th Annual River Kennet Teams of Four Championship at Fobney Island to Beat Five.

Total match weight on the day was 157lbs 10ozs, at an average weight of 3lbs 8ozs per angler.

The winning team was Reading Fishing Club's Bosher's Boys, who comprised Dave Bosher, Joe Baker, Richard Rosinski,and Mick Stanley.

They totaled 340 points and pushed T./R.B.L.A.S Muppets (Andy Chapman, Simon Couling, Peter Godfrey and Steve O’Keefe) into second spot with 232 points.

The match was shared by Baker and Mick Donohoe of Yotac/21 Club Gold.

Baker was fishing on the Sandbags peg on Beat 5A section and banked mainly roach and a few perch, while Donohoe was fishing two pegs downstream of Rosekiln Lane Bridge on Beat 4B. He also banked mainly roach and a few perch. Both recorded a weight of 10lbs 6ozs.

Paul Wilding of Adventure & Prestcold A was third. Fishing two pegs below the concrete bBlocks on Beat 5A, he banked roach, dace, perch and gudgeon to record a weight of 9lbs 8ozs.

Section weights – A section (Beat 4B): 47lbs 15ozs; B section (Beat 3B): 8lbs 15ozs; C section (Beat 5B): 29lbs 12ozs, D section (Beats 4B & 5A): 71lbs 10ozs.

Bracknell Avocets fished the Thames at Wallingford B where everybody caught. Alan Powell had a fine bag of roach on the whip to win the match with 11lbs 3ozs.

Barry Morten fished the feeder on worms and red maggot to catch a mixed bag of 8lbs 12ozs with a 2lb perch and claimed second place, while Terry Smith found the bleak in his swim, but managed finish third with 7lbs 7ozs.

Prospect A.C. hosted Arborleigh A.C. and Swallowfield A.C. on the Goring stretch of the Thames.

Steve Collins (Arborleigh) led from start to finish with an amazing 29lbs 2ozs of roach.

Second was Kevin Jarret, who managed to take 18lbs 4ozs of roach and perch to the scales, with Colin Day third with roach and skimmers for 14lbs 8ozs.
