THERE was only one match on the RDAA scene last weekend – which is normal for the weekend before the monthly Association match – and this contest this took place on the River Kennet at the Burghfield River section.

Reading Fishing Club’s members found the going hard – the cold snap made fishing very slow with most anglers catching only very small fish.

Pete Budaji took the victory with 4lbs 12ozs which consisted of a small perch, a couple of bleak and the rest of his catch was all gudgeon.

Second place went to Bill Tucker with 3lbs 11ozs and his net consisted of two small chub and bits.

George Callaghan completed the top three with a mixed bag of small fish which weighed in at 3lbs 10ozs.

T.R.B.L.A.S. used their section of the River Thames at Hardwick.

Silver fish, especially roach, showed up and Simon Couling continued his good run of form with 9lbs 12ozs.

In second spot was Andy White with 9lbs 4ozs and taking third place was Chris Humphreys with 8lbs 12ozs.

This Sunday will see the RDAA Teams of Four fished on the River Kennet between Fobney Island and County Weir. The sections will be: A section - Beat 4B, B section - Beat 3B, C section – Beat 5B and D section – Beat 4B/5A.
